Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD) is a disruptive jaw disorder that affects the jaw joint’s muscles, tissues, and bones (TMJ). Jaw Pain Relief

When providing jaw pain relief, it is crucial to determine the root cause of your condition. This can be done through a careful evaluation and a series of diagnostic tests. There are many causes of TMD, including teeth grinding or clenching, habitual gum chewing, nail-biting, and jaw injury. Dr. Nylander will diagnose your specific cause before recommending a customized treatment plan.

Since the leading cause of TMD is nighttime teeth grinding, many of our patients benefit from a custom mouthguard to treat their condition and prevent future symptoms. Some patients may also be necessary to begin orthodontic correction to realign their bite. Others may need an adjustment in their dental crown or bridge so that they can bite more comfortably.

I had another good appointment yesterday with the Dental Hygienist staff, who are just as caring and professional as Dr. Nylander. The office runs efficiency there was no long wait period like in other offices I’ve waited an hour before even with the appointment. Our Doctor

Dr. Justin Nylander

He was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He was raised in a military family so much of his life was spent moving. Dr. Nylander claims Texas as home as he graduated from high school on Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas. After high school, he graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Nylander attended dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health.
